“Kuroi Tsuki” (“Black Moon”)

Character spoilers for Chichiri,  OAV2 eps. 4 and 5.

I used the English translation of “Kuroi Tsuki” (vocal song from the OAV mini-albums, I think the actual one is “Everlasting Story” but I could be mistaken).

In the dark, a hollow laugh reaches my ears
 I alone wander about in the deep labyrinth

 The memories tormented me, I could see them all
 around. The three of us, playing happily together as
 children. Kouran-chan, me, you. Juxtaposed with the
 cold flash of the dagger you pulled out, during our
 fight -
 
 Another laugh. I realized now - I wasn't truly dead, I
 had a chance, didn't I? Another chance...
 
 A faint hope   Withered flowers
The whirling flames drive me mad
 
 No. I see this memory in scarlet, in the flames. I was crying for help. You let go.
 You let go, Houjun. And now, you shall pay...
 
 "Serve me," a distant voice said. "Serve me, and he
 shall pay for his betrayal."
 
 How?
 
 "With my power, you shall rule over water. The same
 water that drowned you, as a human, shall aid you in
 your revenge." The voice came closer. "Become my
 servant. And live."
 
 The fire-
 Blood-red memory-
 
  I'm veiled in the black moon,
 I sense nothing at all
 Tear up my body and
 take me away to the depths of the sea
 
 I was not Hikou. Yet I still was.
 
 Broken pieces of glass   Sinking your cold eyes
 The doll of stone   You were changed...
 
 Tenkou-sama changed me into Kanki, one of the Chisatsu
 four kings. True to his promise, water born from my
 wings made people lose their reason. Yet I never
 reacted to the name, my heart was the heart of Hikou -
 
 I lost my heart to you though,
the hope not coming true went to pieces
 
 "Friendship is only an illusion." I pronounced.
 An illusion.
 And you tricked me with it.
 
I'm veiled in the black moon
 to the another world of my memory
 I vacantly see your image in my mind's eye
 The vision of you beckons me to the faraway sea
 
 "Kill the Suzaku shichiseishi called Chichiri," Tenkou
 ordered. "Destroy them all, even their miko. Torture
 them, make them suffer like you did. Remember your

 pain, the betrayal! Make them all suffer!"
 
  I'm veiled in the black moon,
 I sense nothing at all
 Tear up my body and
 take me away to the depths of the sea
 
 Chichiri. Houjun.
 I must carry out my master's orders.
 Don't bother stopping me, what can you do?
 I am not Hikou any longer...

 

Author’s Note: OK, by now it should be obvious which character I like. Chichiri. ^_^

But this is, to my knowledge, the SECOND Hikou POV fic in fanfiction existence.
